Providing Peace of Mind - When You Can’t Be There

Your parent wants to maintain independent living at home. You want to know they’re safe, doing well, and getting the support they need.

But, you can’t always be there to check in on them.

That’s where Preventavue can help.

Preventavue is a cost-effective in-home check-in service for older adults who want to remain independent—and for families who want an extra set of eyes and professional perspective. During each visit, the Senior Care At Home team will check in with your loved one, provide helpful home care services as needed, observe how things are going, look at the home environment, and communicate meaningful changes or concerns to your family.

Preventavue gives you an extra set of eyes and much needed peace of mind, allowing you to stay connected and informed, even when you can’t be there.

Do I Need Preventavue?

They’re still independent, but you’re starting to wonder.

Maybe mom is still doing fine at home. Maybe dad doesn’t need a caregiver. But you’re concerned about small changes and a potential decline in health, physical, or cognitive status.

If you can’t be there routinely, it’s hard to notice changes that could eventually become a crisis.

And sometimes, the hardest part is not knowing.

Whether you live a busy life right here in the Oklahoma City area, or you live across the country, Preventavue gives you a local presence with a caring view and a focus on prevention for your aging parent.

We’ll keep you informed to support your loved one’s independence. And help you get a plan when things start to change.

Is your loved one’s home still safe?

A well loved home can become difficult to navigate as your loved one ages. Our Preventavue Home Safety Assessment provides a comprehensive look at areas of the home that may affect everyday safety. We’ll identify potential concerns and provide recommendations for improvement.

When appropriate, our team can also:

  • make referrals for repair and accessibility specialists,
  • coordinate appointments,
  • be present while work is completed.

Let’s discuss which services work best for you and your family.

Preventative Home Care Services

Why does a preventive approach matter?

You care about your family. But the need for elder care for an aging loved one doesn’t mean life around you stops.

Whether you live down the street or across the country, it’s natural to worry about your aging parent or loved one. Even before anything goes “wrong,” their well-being is on your mind.

You may wonder:

Preventavue provides you with that support and helps answer those questions for you.

A regular in-home visit gives your family an opportunity to have someone check on your loved one, observe their well-being and home environment, and communicate any changes or concerns.

You don’t have to be physically present to be more connected to what’s happening at Home.

We take a preventive approach to help avoid a crisis, and we’ll help you get a plan when extra steps may be needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Preventavue?

Preventavue is a regular in-home check-in service from Senior Care at Home designed for older adults who value independent living and may not need ongoing home care services.

During a visit, a member of our team spends time with your loved one, observes how they are doing, checks the home environment, and reports relevant changes or concerns to your family. It provides an extra set of eyes and another layer of support when you cannot always be there yourself.

Preventavue may be a good fit for seniors who are living at home with limited assistance but whose families would feel more comfortable with regular check-ins.

It can be especially helpful when adult children live out of town, have busy schedules, or are beginning to wonder whether an aging parent needs additional support. Preventavue gives families a way to stay informed without immediately transitioning to more extensive elder care.

For seniors who need more consistent assistance with personal care, mobility, daily routines, companionship, or other needs, Senior Care at Home also offers more comprehensive in-home senior care services. We can help your family determine which level of support makes sense for your situation.

No. Preventavue is not a medical service or clinical assessment.

Our team observes your loved one’s physical and cognitive well-being, daily environment, and routines during scheduled visits. If we notice a meaningful change or concern, we communicate that information to your family so you can decide what next steps may be appropriate.

During a Preventavue  visit, our team checks in personally with your loved one and observes areas that can offer helpful insight into how they are doing.

This may include physical stability, hygiene, conversation and memory, nutrition, medication concerns, and the general condition of the home. We may also look at areas such as laundry, food in the refrigerator or pantry, cleanliness, clutter, trash, mail, packages, and the yard.

After each visit, we provide an update through our online Family Room portal.  We will also communicate by phone if there are concerns and next steps that need to be discussed.

Yes. Families can choose Preventavue Support for additional help during scheduled visits.

Depending on your loved one’s needs, support may include organizing mail, technology help, appointment scheduling, grocery shopping, limited meal preparation, pharmacy pick-ups, and other non-emergency errands.

Transportation and accompaniment are available through Preventavue Transportation. Families can choose either two or four trips per month.
